Kristine Benishek, MLS, AHIP is a medical librarian with over twenty years experience as a manager of medical libraries in academic hospitals. She is a member of the Ohio Health Sciences Library Association, the Medical Library Association and the Academy of Health Information Professionals. Throughout her career she has worked closely with healthcare professionals in meeting their informational needs related to patient care and assessing quality of life issues. For several years she wrote reviews of forthcoming health care books for the Library Journal and also served on her county’s Public Health Department Healthy People 2010 committee. A native of Ohio, when she is not working she cooks soft food meals for her elderly parents.
